WiFi Password Generator
Create a strong WiFi password and a QR code guests can scan to join. Both are made on your device and never leave your browser.
A WiFi password is typed once per device and then forgotten, so it can be as long and as random as you like. Add your network name and guests can scan the code below to join — no typing, no reading it out.

Scan to join
Add your network name below and a scannable code will appear here.
Your network
Type it exactly as it appears on your device, capital letters and spaces included.
Password
Twenty characters is a good default. Since the QR code does the typing, going longer costs you nothing.
Recent WiFi passwords
Nothing here yet. Passwords you generate are kept on this device only, so you can pick one up again later.
What makes a WiFi password good?
Length, mostly. Anyone near your home can record the moment a device joins your network and then guess at the password for as long as they like, with no router to slow them down. A short password loses that race; a long random one is never finished.
You only have to get it onto each device once, which is what the code above is for — a phone camera reads the network name, the security type and the password, and offers to join. That also means the image is the password: keep it off the internet, and put the printed copy somewhere you would be happy leaving the password itself.
Everything happens on your device. Your WiFi passwords never leave this browser.
