Why a passphrase?
A passphrase is a handful of ordinary words picked at random. It is far easier to remember and to type than a jumble of characters, and it is just as hard to guess — because the strength comes from how many words were drawn, not from how strange they look.
Each word here is chosen from 7,776 options, so every word you add multiplies the number of possibilities. Six words is a good place to start; add more for the passwords that protect everything else, like the one on your password manager.
Everything happens on your device. Your passphrases never leave this browser.
